Inspired by human resilience and ambition, Dark at Sea follows a dancer’s internal struggle to find meaning through movement while confronting frustration and the quiet addiction to perfection. It becomes a meditative reflection on what success truly looks like, how its definition shifts over time, and how the pursuit itself often carries more weight than any tangible result.
Shot on 35mm motion picture film, the production itself became a mirror of this story. Technical setbacks, shifting cameras, and the repeated loading and unloading of film between magazines compressed the shoot into a narrow window, echoing the persistence and natural unfolding at the heart of the film. What emerged is a raw, imperfect portrait of ambition, both on screen and behind the camera.
